I purchased the Samsung Intercept from Sprint at the Best Buy Mobile booth, and I didn’t even know it was supposed to be released on July 11th (purchased on July 3rd). The shipment arrived to some Best Buy stores on July 2nd, and as many people know this phone is not even listed on Sprint’s website.

Q: How much does the phone cost?
A: $400 full price, $150 after a $50 mail in rebate with a 2 year contract.
Q: When does it release?
A: June 2nd, 2010
Q: How is the battery life?
A: Its been alright so far, I can definitely manage it to last a full day although some users may have trouble doing so. Whats cool is that the phone has a detailed battery report which gives you a run down on what features are draining your battery life which in turn helps you manage the phone better. If I had to give the battery life a score it would be a 6.5/10 where my Blackberry 8900 is a 9.5/10…this by far is my only REAL gripe with the phone.
Q: How much does the data plan/internet cost?
A: Depending on your plan it can range anywhere from $25-$30 a month. Call T-Mobile to find out how much you would pay, or visit the website.
Q: This or the Nexus 1/HD2/Evo4G?
A: This is based on your opinion honestly. The N1’s/HD2/Evo’s specs absolutely demolish the specs on this phone BUT even with that said some ppl can’t be without a physical keyboard myself included. If you don’t mind NOT having a keyboard get the Nexus/Evo…I still wouldn’t recommend the HD2 for the fact that Windows 6.5 is dated and pretty much sucks if you ask me…
Q: What firmware/version is it on?
A: Android 2.1 update 1 with the HTC SENSE UI…HTC has already confirmed that 2.2 Froyo will be released for this phone…AWESOME!!!
Q: How did you get the phone before its release date?
A: I found it on a stool at a German bar lol
Q: Does it have Live Wallpapers?
A: No, I’m unsure if they will be adding this in the future, it seems like its a Snapdragon(1Ghz Processor) exclusive feature.

The T-Mobile G1 (previously known as the HTC Dream) is an Internet-enabled smartphone designed by High Tech Computer Corporation of Taiwan. The G1 will be the first phone to the market that will use the Android mobile device platform.[1][2] The phone is part of an open standards effort of the Open Handset Alliance.[3] It was released for pre-order through T-Mobile on September 23, 2008, and planned for availability in stores on October 22, 2008 in the US.[4][5][2] It is scheduled to be released in the UK on October 30, 2008, and the rest of Europe (at least in Germany, Netherlands and Czech Republic) in early 2009. Android
The G1 runs on the Android operating system. Most Android software developers write their applications in Java, but since Android does not directly run J2ME applications, they need to be compiled first to a unique non-Java bytecode before they can be executed on an Android powered phone. The home screen app provided on the G1 offers a desktop with shortcut icons similar to the one on Windows mobile devices, but gives the user three screens worth of space for storing more shortcuts than will fit on one screen. Dragging sideways across the home screen scrolls between the desktops. The G1 comes with ChromeLite a stripped down version of the Google Chrome browser.
Other software applications can be downloaded from the Android Market, which hosts existing and new services from developers. The device comes preloaded with several Google applications like Maps (including satellite view, traffic and Google Street View with a built-in compass), GMail, a dedicated YouTube player, Calendar, and Google Talk.[4] GPS navigation is available through a built-in GPS receiver.[9] Maps are displayed in a conventional 2D display or an overhead satellite view; the inbuilt digital compass also allows the navigation of street views in real time.
