Motorola held an even in Toronto, Canada to showcase MotoBlur and the 3 new devices coming to Canada:
Motorola Dext – Bell
Motorola Backflip – Telus
Motorola Quench – Rogers

The BackFlip and Dext will be using HSPA, so it would be running on Telus’ and Bell’s new 3G network.
The phones have a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.1′ 320×480 capacitive display, and run Android OS 1.5.

Motorola’s MotoBlur is an “add-on” to Android OS and enhances the social networking experience dramatically.

You’ll just select the message widget on your Android device which will take you to your messaging main menu. You can see your messaging history beneath a compose a message icon, which we will select. Once here, it will ask you to place in a telephone number or a name. If you were to insert that, automatically the numbers will pop up; or, if you spell a name, the names will pop up. I’m going to send my friend Brandy a text message. Tap here to compose and you can either fill out with the full QWERTY keyboard vertically or horizontally. The messaging system will integrate into a full landscape keyboard if you have big thumbs or like a wide keyboard stance. Simply imput your text here. You can select numbers or additional icons here with many pages to do so. You can decrease the size of your keyboard here. Once you’re done typing what you want to type, hit send and you’re all done.

I purchased the Samsung Intercept from Sprint at the Best Buy Mobile booth, and I didn’t even know it was supposed to be released on July 11th (purchased on July 3rd). The shipment arrived to some Best Buy stores on July 2nd, and as many people know this phone is not even listed on Sprint’s website.

Here are some of the common questions you guys are asking:

Q: How much does the phone cost?
A: $400 full price, $150 after a $50 mail in rebate with a 2 year contract.

Q: When does it release?
A: June 2nd, 2010

Q: How is the battery life?
A: Its been alright so far, I can definitely manage it to last a full day although some users may have trouble doing so. Whats cool is that the phone has a detailed battery report which gives you a run down on what features are draining your battery life which in turn helps you manage the phone better. If I had to give the battery life a score it would be a 6.5/10 where my Blackberry 8900 is a 9.5/10…this by far is my only REAL gripe with the phone.

Q: How much does the data plan/internet cost?
A: Depending on your plan it can range anywhere from $25-$30 a month. Call T-Mobile to find out how much you would pay, or visit the website.

Q: This or the Nexus 1/HD2/Evo4G?
A: This is based on your opinion honestly. The N1’s/HD2/Evo’s specs absolutely demolish the specs on this phone BUT even with that said some ppl can’t be without a physical keyboard myself included. If you don’t mind NOT having a keyboard get the Nexus/Evo…I still wouldn’t recommend the HD2 for the fact that Windows 6.5 is dated and pretty much sucks if you ask me…

Q: What firmware/version is it on?
A: Android 2.1 update 1 with the HTC SENSE UI…HTC has already confirmed that 2.2 Froyo will be released for this phone…AWESOME!!!

Q: How did you get the phone before its release date?
A: I found it on a stool at a German bar lol

Q: Does it have Live Wallpapers?
A: No, I’m unsure if they will be adding this in the future, it seems like its a Snapdragon(1Ghz Processor) exclusive feature.

BTW most of my responses are being done straight from the phone!
