Do we have to buy different sim cards? Do American sim cards fit phones purchased in the UK?
Sorry, I should have mentioned that the phones we want are Pay as you Go !!
Well ive been to the USA and took my LG Shine on Orange and it worked out there fine although my friends (older phone )didnt work. It all depends on the phone you have, the newer phones mostly work, ring your service provider and they will ask you the make and model of your phone, they’ll be able to tell you which phones will work out there and which phones wont.
We want buy mobile phones which work in the UK and the USA.?

Any triband phone will work in the US, which is most phones out atm.
The sim cards all around the world are the same size, including the US.
If in doubt ask your network.
