xilisoft 3gp convertor is a good one
will my virgin mobile sim card work in any sim free phone?
No. A SIM card stores the information of the phone service inside it. SIM-free phones store it in the phone itself.
I’m looking to get a "pay as you go" (pre-pay) SIM card to put in my mobile phone when I go on holiday to Germany. I’ll mostly want to use it for data to avoid expensive roaming charges. Could someone please tell me which network is best in terms for cost for data? I’ll be using it in Berlin and am happy to buy it online or when I get there.
T-mobile is the biggest and also has the best rates for pre paid
BTW ‘call ya’ is one plan of ‘vodafone’
Do we have to buy different sim cards? Do American sim cards fit phones purchased in the UK?
Sorry, I should have mentioned that the phones we want are Pay as you Go !!
Well ive been to the USA and took my LG Shine on Orange and it worked out there fine although my friends (older phone )didnt work. It all depends on the phone you have, the newer phones mostly work, ring your service provider and they will ask you the make and model of your phone, they’ll be able to tell you which phones will work out there and which phones wont.
vodafone website.
If you have a T-Mobile account that is active, you can put your SIM card in any unlocked GSM phone and use your T-Mobile account on that phone.
I am about to go to Canada, planning to take my phone with me- but have since found out Orange Pay as You Go doesnt work out there, and i am having trouble finding any other pay as you go provider that will work in Canada. If i was on monthly contract, it would work… but i am not. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Pre Pay on O2 or Vodafone won’t work either, you can receive calls but not make them. The T-Mobile website says calls are ok, but then it doesn’t differentiate between contract and pre pay so you would have to check with them.
i wont to buy a nokia N95 but a cheap secondhand one and not on a plan. A shop preferable in east gippsland or round Melbourne towards the mornington peninsula.
There is a Nokia N95 16GB I found here for cheap:

Yeah, they do… sloooowly!
I’v recently bought a mobile phone contract with free unlimited internet. my question is if i put the sim card into a usb modem and into my laptop, will i be able to conect to the internet via my laptop?
No, it won’t work. You can however use the phone as a "tethered modem" which means that the computer sees the phone as a dial-up style modem. Many Nokias and particularly BlackBerrys are good for this.
The problem is that most companies who offer unlimited internet will only allow it when using a particular browser on the phone, one that has limitations as to what sort of web site can be displayed, and they definitely won’t allow things like streaming video, IM or youtube etc., without extra charges – often quite steep extra charges.
Check the fine print on the phone company’s contract very carefully.
